TD article on SPON (german)

Hi,

there's a new article on "SPIEGEL online" about the new TD lineup. "In search of the Froese factor" is about using the name TD after Froese's death without any of the original members.

Re: Stranger Things

I just finished watching the second season. The last episode, chapter 9, also contains a snipped from Poland, "Rare Bird", the closing section of Tangent :-)

Re: Light Flux

GREEN SUMMER CLOUDS is a brilliant 70's style, yet contemporary work-out between them both, recorded all the way back in 2007, so they were definitely hard at it! Similarly REACHING RAVENNA, yet barely any of this co-written stuff made it to any albums in that initial period nor beyond. What a sham...

Re: PREVIEW ON SOUNDCLOUD - "QUANTUM GATE" album by TD

Just listened to QG on apple music. I don't like the massive layered sound of the new TD. Everything ends up in a big mash, letting no air to breathe. Like on the Quaeschnig/Schnauss album and some of Schnauss' solo works.

Totally agreed. I hope that the three will work together in the future, be it under the name of TD or not. :D

Re: The News About Edgar

Oh no. I just read the bad news on the german news website ZEIT online . I can't believe it. I followed TD since the mid-70s and I have nearly all of their albums. They made me start playing keyboards. I saw TD three times live: 1980, 1982 and in the late 1990s. Edgar and TD were part of my life. :c...

Re: TD will come to an end in 2017

I don't know if you know the german-speaking artist Johannes Heesters. He performed on stage until the age of 107 - shortly before he died.
Still 37 years to go, Edgar :-D

Mala Kunia

Hi, just listened to the new "long run cupdisc" Mala Kunia. Well, after the announcement of a new era, I expected something very new and experimental. But from the first to the last note it sounds like Edgar Froese. It's not a bad disc, it's quite good, but I wouldn't call it a new era. Tr...

Re: TD will come to an end in 2017

Edgar Froese once said in an interview: "On the 29. September 1990 TD will disband. That's definite." He said, that TD was planned as a 20-year project that will disband in 1990. Source is the German magazine "musik-elektronik", issue 4/1985, page 12. Interview by Peter Schäfer. ...

Re: Sorcerer 2014

I'm having the album for a week, now. The original also was one of my TD favorites. But I'm not that enthusiastic about the rework. The straight drums on Search don't fit, IMO. And the overall sound is too digital, compared with the original. But nonetheless, Sorcerer still is a great album. CD2 is ...

Re: The Castle

Got The Castle and Booster today. They originally arrived on Tuesday when I stood under the shower. So I had to pick them up from the post office today. Just finished listening to The Castle: what a brilliant album!!! Very moody and dark. The Quaeschning tracks ( 4 and 8 ) stand out, but the last tr...

Re: Sorcerer film to be remastered, rereleased on DVD

Sorcerer is a great movie, as well as Le Salaire de la Peur ( The Wages of Fear ), the French predecessor from 1953 (originally in black/white) with Yves Montand. Both are examples of thrilling, timeless movies. I have seen both versions several times (VHS ...), now waiting for Sorcerer (and it's m...

Re: LOOM

Got The Tree... today and just listened to it: expect the best from Schmoelling's and Froese's solo albums :D Ambitious, diversified, and experimental. Starts with a track that sounds like TD in the mid-80s. They even use the same equipment: PPG Wave 2.3, Roland Jupiter 8 and MKS 80. Now eagerly awa...

TD tribute

Hi,

I just recorded a new song. It's a tribute to my favorite TD era, the Schmoelling years. Maybe some of you like it.

The Subsidence - Beacon Buoy

Listen loud and through headphones! Enjoy :D
