I read about this at the time. I might be wrong but I believe Peter's involvement was minimal (if at all) and Patric was just using Baumann's name to sell the album. I used to have a promo flexi disc of it...I should have a look and see if I still have it Baumanns involvement was definitely not min...

Has anyone here heard Peter Baumann's collaboration with Patric Mimran from 1983? It was released under the artist name AXXESS and the album was called "Novels for the Moons". If you like "Romance76" and "Trans Harmonic Nights" you will probably like this one too. They ...

Thanks for the welcome Chris, Har and Billy. Welcome Tokyocat! I love your music list - almost a carbon copy of what I would put! Not seen many others who like Monolake's stuff! All the best, BTF Actually, Robert Henke of Monolake has said that Tangerine Dream was one of his influences. Here's a quo...

I recently watched a movie called "Sunshine" on DVD. It's directed by Danny Boyle. It's a science fiction film about a group of scientists who are trying to 'restart' the sun because it's running out of energy. There are some amazing scenes of a spacewalk, trying to repair the exterior of ...

Wow, here's a quote from an interview with Froese about his meeting with Eno. --- DJ: “Interesting you should mention Brian Eno, do you listen to a lot of his stuff”? Edgar: “I know everything about him, we once played together for a couple of days in Berlin, we were just rehearsing." --- So it...

I'd love to vacation in Japan. I am a big sushi and seafood lover, so I know I wouldn't have to worry about going hungry there! :D Yeah the food is great, although many western people sometimes complain about the size of the servings (often smaller than they are used to). I also love Korean and Tha...

Do you know muich about Tetsu Inoue. do you like his music??? I've never heard any of his full albums... I've heard a few of his ambient tracks on various compilations but I can't remember what they sounded like. I think he put out an album on Ian Boddy's DiN label didn't he, maybe I should check t...

I love this album! I think many of the sounds were made with the PPG Wave... that crisp, lush, deep digital sound is on every track. In my opinion some of their soundtracks have a very uneven quality (Legend, Near Dark, Heartbreakers) but Firestarter is very consistent and each track flows into the ...

I haven't heard 'Early Beginnings' yet but I'm definitely interested.

I've heard 'Wuivend Riet', 'Instant City' and 'White Out' and some of the tracks are really good... you can hear how big his input into TD was.

Yeah I heard this somewhere but I never knew if it was true... every Bowie biography I've read never mentions Froese or TD... and Froese never seems to talk about it either. I wonder if they still keep in touch.

I'm not sure if Brian Eno liked TD, but David Bowie was definitely a fan of TD. I even remember reading an interview with Bowie and he said that Edgar Froese's "Epsilon In Malaysia Pale" was one of his favorite albums.

Brian came up with the name, but he certainly did not come up with the first Ambient album. Brilliant musician though I love reading interviews with Brian Eno, he thinks about music (and art) in a different way to most musicians, he's not afraid to be intellectual or speak his mind. It would have b...

Welcome to the Forum Tokyocat. Its my main ambition in life to visit Japan some day, so if your still around when I go I`ll have loads of travel questions probably  :D 8) Hi Cantosis. Well Japan is easier to visit than you think... you do not need to speak Japanese to stay in Tokyo or Kyoto ...

Re: Melrose

Edgar recommends that all synth players (when they start out composing) just buy 3 synths, buy the best...but get only 3 and get to know them inside out :) Haha, that's great! Unfortunately I am already past Froese's limit... I already have 5 synths plus a sampler, drum machines etc and there are s...

Neither of those reviewers have a clue what they are talking about... there's so many people out there that don't understand real music and they never will. Anyone can be a music critic but not many people can create albums like Phaedra and Rubycon, especially when you consider they were created in ...
