I was a 10-12pm Peel fan- I credit him with getting me into this late night listening habit in the first place (besides a heap of great music) - they guy knew no boundries as far as taste and broadcasting went;irreplaceable, unforgettable. Some new names and ideas for late night listening - an inter...

I remember all those names now - Ash Prema played some very Tangy sounding stuff and Mark Jenkins, I think, posed on stage with a laser reflecting off his full front silvered shades. I think I came away with an album of tracks from all or most of the artists that played there. I was impressed with W...

Sounds like it just didn't work at all in practice - isn't part of the problem that Oxygene is just so familar now? That's partly what I didn't enjoy about seeing TD in Hanley - the Tangram sections were so similar to the record release that there seeemd to be no point in being there. Perhaps improv...

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v220/24_frames/OXYGENE-PROGRAMME.jpg Shame I'm not a JMJ fan, that's a great poster. TD ought to do something similar. it's a tour programme actually mate, with all the analog equipment listed in the middle I was at the tail of this thread thinking about the JMJ an...

Thanks for that - a very interesting link. I'll come back another time and read some more of that issue. I read the pieces on Hoenig and Froese. MH seems very interested in the structure and composition of his own work - I think it suggests he worked on DftNW for 20 months - that seems like an etern...

Music for drifting off to sleep?

I doubt I'll be alone (fingers crossed) but I'm into the habit of listening to my mp3 player (Sony 818 - great) at night at a very low volume (Eno style). Anyone else do the same? (Took me several changes of earphones until I found something comfortable to sleep in). I wondered what music you listen...

900 posts - is this the "what I'm listening to now" thread? Must be. Last night when I was out running I was listening to Jonn Serrie "And the Stars Go With You" - poignant as it was twilight and I could see the stars clearly for once - it was a tribute to the astronauts who died...

Hey thanks for the welcome and the pointers - I feel it's about time I dumped some of my vague electronica memories from the late 70's, 80's somewhere; there was a time when I used to eat, sleep and drink electronica and spend every penny I could save on new material - everything from Ashra, Ian Bod...

UK Electronica

No idea what year this (80's?) was but I went to this show in Sheffield (at the Octogon (?)- where they play or used to play snooker) and saw Ashra play a dazzling set. The crowd was pretty special too, I remember the rhythmic clapping at the start of the show, which I *think* was running a little b...

I wish I had something to play my vinyl on - I have: Aqua Epsilon... Macula... Ages Stuntman Kamikaze Pinnacles (was going right off EF solo at this point) (haven't listened to these for at least 10 years I guess) I've heard Dalinetopia and Ambient Highway (downloaded and d-leted immediately) Epsilo...

As just mentioned in my previous post on Wolfgang Duren I used to get copies of 2 (maybe 3) magazines on Electronic Music - Eurock and Interface (Face Out?) I *think* that an interview with MH in one of these mags that Hoenig himself said, (when asked about long period of time that had elapsed since...

I used to get copies of 2 (maybe 3) magazines on Electronic Music - Eurock and Interface (I think - I probably have them stashed away with piles of NME's in my parents house). I tracked down a lot of the releases based on reviews in these mags. I was lucky enough to live near to Lotus Records in Han...

Re: Ricochet...again

I know it's been done (probably to death) but I justed wanted to start a thread on what I consider to be TD's finest moments (ok, make that one of their finest moments) Ricochet. For me it's the ultimate sequencer album, covering almost everything I found (and still find) amazing about the group. P...

Album reviews?

Hello Tangfans - my first post. Apart from http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=1295 where else would you look for a reliable and comprehensive set of TD reviews? I followed the Tangs from 74-92 buying alomost eveything I could lay my hands on/afford. I saw the Tangs twice: Dominion 1982 (back ...
