no point in commenting. If one doesn't tow the line, it gets removed by moderators... bye Rick x If there'd be a moderator online at the moment, he/she/it would have already cleaned up all the "Announcement" and "Sticky" threads I suppose. What you probably encounter is the auto...

Re: Is Edgar Ill?

Fantastic gig at the Albert Hall tonight. Just got back in. I and many around me at the gig were concerned for Edgar's health. He looks a shadow of his former self (from seeing him at the Kentish Town Forum in 2008) and has lost a lot of weight?? After watching the BBC "Krautrock" documen...

Royal Albert Hall, April Fool's Day?

I'll be perfectly frank here, I had thought about giving up on TD gigs from this year onwards, afterall how could they surprise me after 16 gigs?...well last night blew me away. A powerhouse display of melody and technique, ebbing and flowing to a truly emotional end. Bianca told me that Edgar wasn...

Booked

I booked my hotel today, a one night stay at the Holiday Inn in Kensington. £105, but well worth it to see what could be a classic TD concert.

Johannes Schmoelling: a thousand times

Have people listened to Mr Schmoelling's new album "a thousand times" yet :?:
It is absolutely superb :!: Classic JS stuff :!:
Brilliant :!: Fantastic :!: Awesome :!: containing all the quality that he contributed to T.D. during his time, and more.

Do people agree :?:

Btw kraftwerk's compostions are so strong they're bullet proof...you can transpose them into any style (Mexican, easy listening, string quartet) and the strength of the writing shines out...TD's does not...because it is about timbre, and the blending of sounds...more than melodies....I refer reader...

However Kraftwerk's idea doesn't stand up at all, when they release English versions of their albums...then the bubble is burst. I don't say Kraftwerk is trying to support fascist ideology... they don't. Their lyrics are not like that in any way. But I think they are using fascist aesthetics for el...

personally I don't think TD's titles and track names have a right or wrong meaning....as in a 100% concrete idea, they're just meant to make you think. Having said that I'd love to know the real thought process behind some of TD's classic albums Quite right. They've certainly made me think over the...

Yes, I love the Logos album. I just wish I was old enough to have gone to the actual concert. My one regret is that I never got to see a Froese, Franke, Schmoelling concert.

Another classic

Exit: Another classic TD from the eighties where they adopted a shorter track approach. The track Exit itself is astonishing, deep and disturbing, I wonder if it deals with the exit from life itself because it has an almost heart-beat type bass sequence line. Does anyone have an opinion here?

I really like this album, but I sometimes think it's made up of bits and pieces; leftovers from the Schmoelling studio work and because of that it's tinged with an air of sadness. Of all the people I wish would not have left T.D. it is Mr Schmoelling...

White Eagle: Brilliant

This was amongst the first TD albums I bought in 1984 and one I rate as an absolute work of genius.

Tangram -an absolute classic

Yes, a masterpiece that started Johannes Schmoelling's career with T.D. in the best way possible. The 2008 version is great, but when I listen to the original it's like time travel, taking me back to 1984 when I was listening to it on my dad's Bang & Olufsen alone on a Saturday night.

I thought he was saying something like "The presence of the futuristic cells...", which links with the story a bit, any other suggestions anyone :?:
