I had this same confusion back when I first found that record. I wonder if the record label had been printed using a template for LPs and no one spotted the discrepancy. Apparently the creators of the bootleg "70/90" were also confused: http://www.voices-in-the-net.de/70_90.htm (see the tr...

They are Tangerine Dream, not The Tangs. The Tangs sounds like a punk band.

Richard Einhorn is a douchebag, and I hate Tangerine Dream being referred to as "The Tangs."

This whole Mars Polaris/Great Wall fiasco just goes to show that none of this music is "inspired" by any of these concepts or themes as is often claimed. They write/record the music first, then give it titles later. Any titles can be stuck on any piece of music. Not that there is anything ...

I love what Jacob said about this track his review (emphasis mine): Borealis (1975): I hope the record label Purple Pyramid is responsible for this historic jiggery-pokery. Nothing here, and I underline NOTHING, is from 1975. At the time of release for "Rubycon" or "Ricochet", Ed...

Re: Borealis

i'm not sure if this was explained elsewhere, but according to VitN, it was composed in 1975. http://www.voices-in-the-net.de/_borealis.htm i know just about everything on Ultima Thule is a remake of classic TD track, but i'm not recognising anything in this track. is it entirely new material? I've...

It seems as though UT Part One finds its way onto more compilations, but I've always preferred the harder-to-come-by UT Part Two, since, to my ears, it sounds more Tangerine Dreamy, with all the swirling Mellotrons and so forth. Part One sounds more like Iron Butterfly.

I'd buy this just for the cover. It might also be kind of convenient having 5 classic albums on 3 CDs.

Toss-up for me: Zeit (I love that black hole) and Encore (the front photo, but not so much the American flag background--I always thought that was kind of silly). The back photo is cool, too. I used to imagine TD set up in the middle of the rain forest with their music pulsating and oozing through t...
