Re: Vangelis

I wasn't aware Vangelis was a member (or guest) of TD.

You learn something new every day. Any recommendation as to what to listen to?

Re: Klaus Schulze

Always loved the trips, regardless, and I was upset for many years when the WORKS series was not available, and in it was some material that was absolutely his best and prettiest, even if different and with others experimenting and living their way through long pieces. It was disappointing then whe...

Peter Baumann's Paragon Studio on TV

https://youtu.be/vxWvEIw7y7M A German film, shot in the early 1980s, and obviously, this must be Peter Baumann's Paragon Studio visible here (in the background, you can spot a silverish-grey Mellotron M-400 with an Elka String perched on top, a Farfisa Professional organ, and a Rhodes piano). The MC...

I want this, but it's a lot of money for an unemployed guy... Wait for about a year and I'm sure they will blow out this boxset like they are blowing out Hades at the moment: https://www.jpc.de/jpcng/poprock/detail/-/art/tangerine-dream-in-search-of-hades-the-virgin-recordings-1973-1979/hnum/915124...

Re: The Sessions VI = The End

This behaviour prompted me to quit contributing to this forum a long time ago. See when you say “contributing” do you mean constantly slating all things TD, the band , their music, Edgar, album releases, band members ..... Here and elsewhere you have slagged TD for years. Nice to see you turning up...

Re: The Sessions VI = The End

Well, that's exactly the kind of blind adulation you mentioned above. [...] Except that they did- for the reasons mentioned above- plus they have both their respective solo releases (and two different collaborations) to back that up. The fact that you can't hear the quality on said releases is mind...

Re: In Search of Hades: The Virgin Recordings 1973-1979

Interesting facts from the illustrated book: Chris Franke purchased his Moog IIIp from Florian Fricke of Popol Vuh and passed it on to Klaus Schulze at a later stage? Peter Baumann used a Projekt Elektronik Sequencer for Stratosfear ? Pardon me? He had an entire modular synthesiser custom-built to h...

Re: In Search of Hades: The Virgin Recordings 1973-1979

Strangely enough, neither the direct link nor copying and pasting it would yield any results for me. Searching the net for the album, I came across a link to Steve Wilson's website -- where any info on the project had disappeared as well ("the content you are looking for has been removed or it ...

For those beverage lovers among you:

I wonder what Mr. Hütter and the TD clan make of that.

Cheers.

Time to save some pennies, I guess.

If the info quoted above is reasonably accurate, I think I might like this box.

If it ever gets released in this century, that is.

Re: Schmoelling and Waters new album and concert

This part of the interview, and this sentence in particular, summarizes everything in my opinion: Unfortunately, our ‘blood is thicker than water’ concept completely turned upside down when my mother passed away in 2000 because she always managed to be some sort of an ombudsman within the family. An...

Re: Force Majeure - A Review of the Book

[...] I can admit that I am a bit annoyed about the fact that EF seems to focus on all that went wrong. [...] I really enjoyed reading about recording Stratosfear , for example -- after all, it's a true miracle that this music materialised at all. You might indeed get the impression EF was a bit of...

At least I suppose this to be the average response to this article, here in this very forum.

Re: Your comments after having read Edgar's book!

It's a loose collection of funny and less funny anecdotes, a little bit of insight into how things used to be back then, some thoughts and ideas Froese had on various topics. There is no narrative plot which guides the reader from episode to episode. A biography? Too incomplete for the band's histor...
