My Sad News

Post by genesis1964 »

Sadly on Saturday 12th December my mother died

My mum had a liver condition diagnosed about three years ago but has been in relatively good health since then, fighting the disease. She had been on medication and the specialists were pleased with her (despite the fact their was no cure available). About a month ago she was put on some other medication because she was fed up and getting tired very easily. Don't know if it was the new medication or not but my mother became fully dependant on my dad. He had to feed her, take her to the toilet etc.

Eventually she was taken off this medication and taken in to hospital. Over the last couple of weeks I have been making regular trips on the train to England to see her and be with my dad and brother. I hated to see my mother just lying there not able to move, hardly able to speak and only smiling very occasionally. They tried many types of medication to get her sodium levels up and also she had a hormone imbalance they were treating and she has been stable with small signs of improvement over the last few days.

Yesterday she developed an infection and within hours was dead. I was very close to my mum and it is very hard to come to terms with. Mum and dad were married for 55 years so his loss is immense.

Very sorry to hear that genesis1964. You have my deepest condolences. My mother-in-law passed away back in August, she was a lovely lady and it was a huge blow to the whole family so I can guess what you are going through.

Sorry to hear that G64.

Been through similar with my dad, very tough, and I still miss him massively.

My mum and dad were also always with each other. It is true however that time is a great healer.

All the best to you, your dad and yours.

I'm so sorry to hear your dreadful news David. I guess most of us are now of an age where we've lost one or both of our parents and therefore can sympathise only too well what you and your dad are going through right now.

My very best wishes to you and the whole family.

David,
My thoughts are with you. I lost my mum five years ago under similiar circumstances and it rocked me to my foundations. It was the hardest period of my life. Friends, Family and Music were the things that got me through. Plenty of friends and music on the forum to help you through hard times. Condolences David.

Such sad news. Your mother is now at peace and it is my hope that this peace can find its way towards your family during this difficult time.
