Re: Worst TD tracks

In spite of a couple of decent tracks, much of Turn Of The Tides and Tyranny Of Beauty was drivel to me. Jerome's influence immediately after those albums was crucial as he seemed to bring new energy and ideas into TD's sound.

Re: The Story behind TD titles!

3 AM AT THE BORDER OF THE MARSH FROM OKEFENOKEE I was reading a book on UFO sightings years ago and it described a famous sighting by a person/people who lived at the edge (i.e., the border) of the marsh at Okefenokee, and it was around 3 am in the morning! Maybe one of the band heard of the sightin...

Your Top 10 TT recordings, the 'must have's!

I've been catching up on a lot of the TT and TL recordings I'd not heard yet or not heard for a long time, and I've slowly formed a kind of top 10 'must have' recordings from this project, such as London 75 and Berlin Philharmonic 76. So what are your top 10 recordings from the TT/TL project? I don'...

Perhaps a far more pertinent question would be....does the increase in picture quality actually make you enjoy the film any more? After all, isn't that the most important thing of all? I would rather watch a great film on VHS than a poor one on Blu-Ray.

Getting hitched!!

Just a small announcement to all of you who know me/us....Jill and I have decided to get married next September!!! :D Not sure what music to play at the ceremony, but it'll probably be a mix of TD and Pink Floyd! It's on the 1st, in Leatherhead, and the evening reception at a pub in Thames Ditton th...

Maybe the lack of a DVD release is to do with copyright regarding the Inferno footage played on the big screen behind the band. Just an idea. I'd certainly buy the DVD as I really enjoyed most of the concert, although I'd be skipping most of the opera tracks!

:D I've not seen the DVD yet, but it's good to hear they've done something with the lighting, at last! Cameras need lots of light (even modern HD ones) hence the stage being awash with light in recent years. But to me this detracts from the mood of the live show. It's really pleasing they've tried t...

The info going around was that it was filmed by one of the road crew. I have a watchable copy of it on VHS, which is a little better quality than this youtube clip. Bits of the show weren't recorded, but I'm sure the video is still over an hour long. I was going to dub my version with the East audio!

Generally the DVDs are all pretty good, but I reckon too many performances have similar setlists to warrant them all being released. But hey, if fans continue to buy them then TD will continue to release them. We all have the option to keep our wallets closed (or open)!

Speaking of hearing them in weird places....a snippet of Love On A Real Train was played over the title card of a repeating section of The Kevin Bishop Show, a sketch show recently on C4. It was featured in every episdoe of the show's recent 6 episode run. The section involved a character who was a ...

The disappointing release of SM is, for me, like trying to watch a great film with a huge scratch down the centre of your TV screen. If I want to hear this great TD performance, I always reach for the TT version, which is a very nice recording, and represents the show as it was performed on the nigh...

I've always felt the prodution on this CD was really weak, with a very limited sound pallete....timid, dry drums....kind of a distant cousin to Destination Berlin in many ways, but with weaker compositions. Makes DB sound like Ricochet!
